Robert Rube I meet Rube at work in his shop in Corvallis, Oregon. He's standing over a board with his mask wearing a ‘skateboarding is not a crime' lid on backwards. It's a large studio with two shaping rooms and a good sized annex for glassing and resin work. Today, he's working on an eight footer he donated as part of a charity auction for Katrina relief. He waves at me, signaling that he'll be with me in a minute, as he works a crucial part of the rails. I wait, watching him at his craft as shaping dust swirls around him. I take some time to survey the place, see what he's been up to for myself. He's got two stacks of blanks four feet high in the corner and about at least as many leaning against the wall.
